Meet the GreenMatter Team


​The GreenMatter Core Team is responsible for coordinating all GreenMatter programmes, and for managing the organization on a day-today basis, as well as its legal and financial interests. The Core Team is also responsible for raising funds from programmes, and sponsors to support GreenMatter progrogrammes and initiatives as well as to ensure the sustainability of the organization.

Janavi Da Silva as the Senior Programme Manager is responsible through partnerships for implementation across the organisation. She has a deep curiosity for social and environmental enterprise and skills development. Janavi Da Silva believes in working from your highest values and creating a unique place in the market for your special skillset and values. She is from an Environmental background, and has an interest in working towards social change. As a result, she studied a Masters degree, in Environmental Science at the University of Johannesburg and has a Diploma in Social Entrepreneurship from GIBS Business School.

Neo Ntshobane, in her capacity as the Administrative Office Manager is responsible for office management, board secretariat functions, financial and project administration. Mrs Ntshobane previously worked as an Administration Officer for The Lewis Foundation. She obtains a Bachelor of Science in Economic Science from the University of Witwatersrand and a Bachelor of Arts Honours in Economics from the University of South Africa. Neo Ntshobane strives to provide effective office management and contribute to innovate the work culture for the betterment of all parties concerned, with the highest priority given to achieving the organization’s vision and objectives.

Kgomotso Thomas, as the Project Coordinator for the Climate Change Education Project is responsible for the coordination of the implementation and execution of the Climate Change Education Project. Including networking, administration, Human Resource and financial management. She holds a Masters degree in Environmental Education from Rhodes University, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the University of South Africa, and a Bachelor of Science Honours in Biology from North West University. She has over 5 years’ experience as a Science Educator and has also worked as a Junior Biodiversity Officer in a Non-Government Organisation for more than 2 years.

​Vuyelwa Masango as the Junior Programme Coordinator for the Imvelisi Enviropreneurs Programme is responsible for coordinating the programme’s projects, through multiple operational duties. Which consist of administration, networking, logistical operations, and social media management. She holds a Bachelor of Science Honours in Environmental Management from the University of South Africa. Vuyelwa Masango has been involved in youth focused eco-tourism, environmental education, and conservation programmes. She strives to be impactful within the Imvelisi Enviropreneurs Programme and organisation.

Lesego Khunou as the ​Administration Assistant for Climate Change Education Project is responsible for all administrative and logistical duties pertaining the project. She obtains a Diploma in Environmental Education from Delta Environmental Centre and is currently studying Nature Conservation at the University of South Africa. Lesego Khunou has immense knowledge and experience within office administration, as a result of working in the field for 4 years within multiple organizations.

Moshadi Mashangoane works as the Coordinator for the Fellowship Programme. Her tasks include coordinating communication between the fellows and GreenMatter stakeholders. Furthermore, she manages the administrative tasks including finances relating to the Fellowship Programme. Moshadi holds a Bachelor of Science Honours in Botany which she obtained at the University of Johannesburg. She previously worked as an intern at the Limpopo Economic Development, Environment and Tourism where she worked mostly on projects related to ethnobotany, alien invasive plans and threatened species.
